Pressure Sensors In Industry

Digital Differential Pressure Sensors have a wide range of applications in industry to measure the difference between two pressures. It is widely used in chemical, petroleum, aerospace, automotive, medical and other fields. Digital differential pressure sensors have the advantages of high precision, good stability, fast response speed and strong anti-interference ability, which can meet the requirements of various industrial applications.

For example, in chemical production, digital differential pressure sensors can be used to measure the difference between two pressures to control the stability and safety of the production process. In the automotive field, digital differential pressure sensors can be used to measure the intake and exhaust pressures of an engine to control the engine's operating status. In conclusion, digital differential pressure sensors play an important role in industry to improve production efficiency and product quality.

Principle and Structure

The operating principle of digital differential pressure sensors is based on the piezoresistive effect. That is, when a resistor is subjected to pressure, its resistance value changes. Digital differential pressure sensors consist of a pressure sensor and a differential pressure sensor. The pressure sensor is used to measure the external pressure and the differential pressure sensor is used to measure the difference between the two pressures.

The advantages of the digital type differential pressure sensor are that it has the characteristics of high accuracy, high stability and high reliability. And it can be output by digital signal, which is convenient for data transmission and storage with computer and other devices.

In the chemical industry

1. Fluid flow measurement

Digital differential pressure sensors are widely used for fluid flow measurement in chemical processes. By measuring the differential pressure at different locations in the pipeline, the fluid flow rate can be accurately calculated. The digital output signal of the differential pressure sensor can be directly connected to the control system. Real-time monitoring and adjustment of fluid flow ensures the stability and safety of chemical processes.

In addition, the digital differential pressure sensor can also measure the flow rate of different media. Such as gases, liquids, etc., making it suitable for flow control of different chemical processes.

2. Safety monitoring and alarm

Digital differential pressure sensors are widely used in the chemical industry for safety monitoring and alarm systems. In chemical processes, specific differential pressure ranges may indicate dangerous or abnormal conditions. By installing digital differential pressure sensors on critical equipment or piping, differential pressure changes can be monitored in time. and transmit the data to the monitoring system.

Once abnormal differential pressure changes are detected, the system will immediately trigger an alarm and corresponding safety measures to avoid accidents. The high accuracy and stability of digital differential pressure sensors enable them to reliably monitor differential pressure changes in chemical processes and effectively safeguard the safety and reliability of the production process.

In the Oil field

1. Oil and gas well control

Digital differential pressure sensors are commonly used in oil and gas well control systems in oil drilling and production. Oil and gas well control requires monitoring parameters such as pressure and flow rate downhole to ensure the stability and safety of oil and gas well production. Digital differential pressure sensors can calculate the bottomhole pressure by measuring the differential pressure between the wellhead and the bottomhole.

It is also able to measure parameters such as oil and gas volume and flow rate. These data can be used to predict reservoir changes at the bottom of the well and to design bottoming flow patterns. Thus, the extraction method and production volume of oil and gas wells can be adjusted to achieve effective optimized well control.

2. Refining process control

Digital differential pressure sensors also have very important applications in the oil refining process. In the oil refining process, it is necessary to monitor and control the flow and pressure of various media at different stages. Digital differential pressure sensors can measure the differential pressure at various points in the refining process.

For example, differential pressure monitoring of equipment such as reactors and separators and flow control in pipelines. Through the digital output signal, the monitoring system can obtain the actual differential pressure value and flow rate changes in the oil refining process in real time. Thus the production process can be adjusted and controlled in real time to ensure the stability and safety of the oil refining process.

In the field of aerospace

1. Pneumatic performance testing

Digital differential pressure transducers are widely used for aerospace vehicle aerodynamic performance testing and research. During vehicle design and development, it is critical to understand the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle surface. Digital Differential Pressure Sensors can be mounted on the surface or model of a vehicle to measure the aerodynamic pressure distribution around the vehicle.

By measuring the differential pressure, parameters such as lift, drag and lateral force of the vehicle in different flight states can be obtained. And understand its flight characteristics, which provides important reference for the design and optimization of the vehicle.

2. High altitude air pressure monitoring

Digital differential pressure sensors can also be used for air pressure monitoring of spacecraft in high-altitude environment. During high-altitude flight, spacecraft need to adapt to different atmospheric pressure environments. Digital differential pressure sensors can be mounted on spacecraft housings to monitor the difference in air pressure between the inside and outside of the spacecraft.

This data is critical to the design and operation of the spacecraft's on-board systems, instrumentation, and astronauts' life support systems, among others. The sensors provide highly accurate and real-time air pressure data to ensure the proper operation of spacecraft in high-altitude environments and the safety of space missions.
